Welcome to the Scouting Year 2011-2012

NEW: February 1, 2012

The Board of Governor has confirmed that they have approved a reduction to the National portion of the youth membership fee effective February 1st, 2012. In turn, the Councils are pleased to announce that the Council "Part-Year" youth fee will be effective immediately. Any new youth joining will pay this rate.

See the "Council Info Sheet" for your council below for details!

Through Scouting, we each make significant contributions to the youth of our communities.  Whether we proudly wear a uniform to a section meeting or quietly work behind the scenes to support those who do, we each share a common vision to enhance the lives of the children in our community.  Important to this grand task is the role you fulfill as the Group Registrar.   You begin organizing the membership in your group.  It starts with you.

You make the difference by helping to ensure that our volunteers are properly screened and registered, so that they will have insurance coverage, that they receive the Scouting Life magazine and that they receive an appropriate Service Award.  To our youth, your role is equally important as registering them with Scouts Canada gives them access to the full benefits of Scouting.  Insurance coverage, scholarships, local, national and international youth events all begins with the simple steps you take.  It’s very important to register members in a timely fashion as membership begins the day they are registered in the Membership Management System (MMS).

Please check the website regularily for updates.

From the Desk of the Council Registrar

UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Please check back later for more information

"From the desk of the Council Registrar" is a series of emails that are sent to volunteers who have adminstrative rights to MMS. Started in February 2009, the series has been a way of giving hints and updates that would help Registrars and Service Teams understand Membership Management System and it's reporting module, DataBeacon and how they can help them with their roles.

Giving Admin Rights to MMS and the Program Builder- March 2009

Update: MMS Admin rights are no longer needed for the Program Builder (only a email address and user created password). Giving admin instructions are still useful and the Program Builder a very useful resource for your section leaders.
