22nd World Scout Jamboree
The 22nd World Scout Jamboree will be taking place from July 27 to August 7th, 2011 and will be held in Kristianstad, Sweden.  Youth between the ages of 14 and 17 years old are eligible to apply as participants, and those aged 18+ are eligible to apply as volunteers.  Please note that youth must have been born between 25 July 1993 and 27 July 1997 to attend as participants; (unfortunately there will be no exceptions made for these qualifications).

Me to We Youth Volunteer Project in Ecuador
Scouts Canada is pleased to announce an opportunity for Scouting members to join a Me To We youth volunteer project in Ecuador this summer. The project will take place from August 10th to 29th. Scouting participants will travel with Me To We staff and other participants at a reduced rate for this project.
 
Participants will assist in building a school, and join in cultural activities with the local community. They will also visit the UNESCO site of Old Quito and the tropical cloud forest.
 
Registration is open immediately to all registered Scouting members, 14 years of age or older. Rates will vary depending on your departure location but are estimated at apporximately $3000 per participant.

Me To We is a leading Canadian organization for providing youth volunteer opportunities in developing countries. Every year, they offer a variety of opportunities for volunteers of all ages to assist in developing countries around the world.

International Rover Week 2011
Kandersteg International Scout Centre, Switzerland, is hosting the first International Rover Week! This year between 7th - 14th August 2011!
All groups or individuals (Rovers and Rangers between 18-30 years old) are welcome to join!

2012 Michigan International Camporee
From July 22-29, 2012, the Boy Scouts of America will be hosting this event at the Northwoods Scout Reservation in Lupton, Michigan. This is a relatively small event with under 1000 participants, that allows youth a better chance to interact with other youth from across the world, as 1/3 of the participants are typically come from outside of North America. Romanian Jamboree
After a gap of 75 years, the National Organisation of Romanian Scouts aims to take the next step in bringing back to life the gathering of all Romanian scouts, and invites guests from around the world to join them in this unique event that will be an important milestone in the history of their organization. Environmental Projects Competition
The World Scout Bureau, Interamerican Region is pleased to call for entries for the "Environmental Projects Competition"- a project designed for Scouts and Venturers who seek to protect and repair the environment. The competition is open to Scout and Venturer units who meet the age requirements of the 13th Panamerican Jamboree (see above), and the winners of the competition will receive a grant to attend the aforementioned event.

23rd World Scout Jamboree - Japan
The next World Jamboree is set to take place in Yamaguchi City, Japan from July 28th to August 8th, 2015. This event is specifically designed for Scouting youth between the ages of 14 and 18. For more information, please visit the official website at http://www.23wsj.jp/.

This facility, located in the Swiss Alps about 65 km south of Bern, offers opportunities for volunteer staff year round based on seasonal staffing needs. Anyone interested in applying for one of these staff positions must be 18 years or older, be a member in good standing of Scouts Canada and have a proven ability in English (other languages are a bonus). Hong Kong Scout Centenary Jamboree
Celebrate New Year's in Hong Kong!  The Hong Kong Jamboree will be held at Penny's Bay next to the Hong Kong Disneyland on Lantau Island - the largest island in Hong Kong - from December 27, 2010 to January 1, 2011. This Jamboree is open to both male and female participants - youth and adults. For more information about this event, please read the fact sheet or letter of invitation. Together for Peace - Egypt 2010
Members of Scouts Canada have been invited to attend the "Together for Peace" event which will be taking place from December 24th to December 30th, 2010 in Cairo, Egypt.  Hosted by the Scouting4peace Foundation, members 12-years of age and older are invited to enjoy four days of International Development Villages, historical workshops, art workshops and environmental workshops.  To read the formal invitation, please click here. 16th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides, India
The 16th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides, previously scheduled to be held from the 6th to the 12th of November, 2009, will now be taking place from the 3rd to the 9th of January, 2011.  The gala event will enable twenty thousand Scouts, Guides, Scouters and Guiders of India and abroad to march together for unity and solidarity and share their experiences with each other in Shankarapally, Rangareddy District in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) India.  To read the official invite, please click here.  If you wish to attend this event, please contact Ross Francis at rfrancis@scouts.ca.

Scouts Canada Fights Hunger! This August, 24 members of Scouts Canada were given the opportunity to partner with the South African Scout Association to once again defend the city of Mafikeng (formerly Mafeking).  This time though, instead of defending against siege, they were defending against poverty and hunger.  Click here to find out more, to read the blog and to learn who was involved in this international development opportunity!

Centennial Cub Jamboree 2010
The Central Escarpment Council was proud to follow the international success of the 2007 Cub Jamboree with an event in 2010 to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Ontario!  The 2010 Cub Jamboree was held from July 25th to 31st at Camp Everton.  For more information please visit the Jamboree website at http://www.ccj10.com/

Jamaica Centenary Jamboree 2010

Belgium Jamborette 2010
The scouts of Niove, Blgium are orgainizing their second international camp:  The 'Jamborette 2010'.  This is a smaller version of the big jamborees which is being held to celebrate their 90th anniversary of Scouting with as many international scout groups as possible.  The event will take place from July 24th to August 2nd, 2010.  For more information, visit their website at

1st "Bolivariano" Scout Jamboree
The first ever "Bolivariano" Scout Jamboree is to be held in
QuitoEcuador from August 7 to 12, 2010.  Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 15 and Venturers must be between the ages of 15 and 17 in order to attend.  For more information, please see the invitation (please note that the invitation is only available in Spanish at this time, we apologize for the inconvenience). 4th Mongolian National Jamboree

World Scout Winter Games
From March 3rd to 8th, 2010, Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) hosted the 2nd World Scout Winter Games.  The disciplines included such sports as Cross Country Skiing, Curling, Slalom Racing, Synchronised Skiing and Triathlon Teams. To

The 4th International Youth Gathering - United Arab Emirates
Young, male Rovers were invited to apply to attend the 4th International Youth Gathering, "Scouting and Intellectual Initiatives", which was held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from February 3-13, 2010.  One male Rover from each National Scout Association submitted a project or other intellectual initiative to share at the event.  The event was intended for youth to develop relationships with participants from different countries and to share intellectual initiatives and ideas.  David Millie was the attendee for Scouts Canada, and his speech to his Highness Sheike Dr. Sultan bin Mohhamad AlQasimi can be read here.
