Lorraine was a Scout retiree and had worked out of Ontario Council.

Joseph Turner - August 2011
Joe joined the Executive Staff in 1954 in British Columbia as a Regional Field Executive. He became Provincial Executive Director for Ontario in 1969 and retired in 1989. He was the recipient of the Silver Maple Leaf for his service to Scouting and received his 70 year service pin in 2011.

Gillian Heath - August 2011
Gillian was a long time Scouter in both Oshawa and at the Ontario Provincial Council level. She was the recipient of the Bar to the Silver Acorn in 2002 and served Scouting for 35 years. She was last registered with White Pine Council, ON.

 

 David Pattie - July 2011
David Pattie was the Regional Executive Director with the Vancouver Island Region for 32 years and always had a big smile.  He was one of the best “cheerleaders” a volunteer could work with, enjoying many summers working at the Council Camp. David received the Silver Maple Leaf, awarded to members of the Executive Staff who have served in excess of 25 years. BCY Council

Albert Peacock - July 2011
Al was a dedicated volunteer for 45 years in both Toronto and Niagara Falls and was the recipient of the Medal for Good Service. Greater Toronto and Battlefields Councils.

Allan Kenneth Hoard - July 2011
Al was an active Scouter in Kawartha Waterways Area, after having served Scouting in many capacities including Deputy Regional Commissioner for White Pine Region and District Commissioner for Peterborough District. Al was a recipient of the Silver Acorn Award for especially distinguished service to Scouting and the Commemorative Centennial Medal.

Ken Jorgensenn - July 2011
Ken was a Cub & Scout with the 58th Toronto Group under the leadership of Gwen & Fred J. Finlay.  He maintained his interest in Scouting till the last. He was a member of the Haliburton Scout Reserve staff in 1950 and 1951.  He went on to be the Area Commissioner, Etobicoke Central Area and later Deputy Regional Commissioner to Bert Page.  He was also in the 1980's on the Regional Special Events Committee.  Training was his first interest as a member of the Greater Toronto and Ontario Training Teams, and he was a trainer on the first Venturer Wood Badge course.

Jean Cowper - June 2011
Jean was a long time member of the Kempenfelt Bay District/Simcoe Phoenix Area in Shining Waters Council, having volunteered for the past 45 years. Jean was also a recipient of the Medal of Merit for her especially good service to Scouting.

Garett Styles - June 2011
Garrett was with the York Regional Police and was tragically killed at the age of 32. He was proud to be a Cub and Scout with the 1st Newmarket Group from approximately 1986 to 1992.

Carl Pitman - May 2011
White Pine Council, Algonquinte Area Scouter Carl Pitman has 'gone home'. He entered into rest surrounded by his loving family at the Kingston General Hospital on Monday May 23 2011 in his 73rd year. Carl was a committed member of the Scouting Family and made a lifelong contribution to Scouting.

Arthur Moorfield - April 2011
Art served Scouting for close to 60 years in Toronto and Lakefield, Ontario at both the group and Council levels. He was a recipient of the Medal of Merit and the Award for Fortitude.

Arthur (Mike) Turtle Sr. - March 2011
Mike started Scouting in England as a youth.  He returned to Scouting as a leader from 1966 to 1981.  In England he started the 2/26 Sholling and worked from 1968 to 1973 as an Assistant County Commissioner.  After moving to Ottawa in 1973 he was involved with the 24th Elmdale, the 32nd Ottawa (St. Mathias Church) and was on the Area Service Team and the Training Team until 1981.

Donna Lawson - March 2011
Donna was a long time Scouter in Orillia, Ontario and Wendake Shores Area. She served Scouting faithfully for 35 years and was the recipient of the Bar to the Medal of Merit and the Award for Fortitude. Donna will be missed by her many Scouting friends.

He was the recipient of the Award for Fortitude, Certificate for Meritorious Conduct and the Silver Acorn for especially distinguished service to Scouting. Fred Fishell - March 2011
Fred was a long time Scouter with the 242nd Toronto Group and author of the "If the Beret Fits" cartoons.

Kirk Wipper - March 2011
Kirk was a King Scout and proud of it. He was also known as one of the grand old men of canoeing in Canada.

Harvey Mitchell - March, 2011
In his 94th year. An active Scouter in Lynn Valley District before coming from Montreal where he was previously active in Scouting. Recipient of the Silver Acorn for especially distinguished service to Scouting.

Ian H. Maclean - February 2011
Ian was a long time member of the Greater Toronto Council, spending many years on the Camping Committee. He was the recipient of the Silver Acorn Award for especially distinguished service to Scouting. (Greater Toronto Council)

Al (Algimantas) Senkus - February 2011
Al was a longtime Scouter with the Greater Toronto Council. He worked with the 90th and 32nd Toronto Groups and was the Assistant Regional Commissioner for Training from 1981-82. Al was instrumental in reviving Lithuanian Scouting in Toronto. (Greater Toronto Council)

Evelyn Clark - February 2011 in her 101st year.
Evelyn was a long time member of the Greater Toronto Council Regional Ladies Auxiliary, receiving her 50 year pin in 1997 from the Provincial Ladies Auxiliary.

Jim Blain - February 2011
Jim ended his 30 year career with Scout Canada as CEO (1992). Recipient of the Bronze Wolf presented by the World Scout Committee in 1990. Presented the Commemorative Medal by the Governor General in 1993.Jim dedicated his life to his family, Scouting and the church. Jim had a special gift of making a positive impact on everyone he knew, and will be missed.

George Hastings Montague - January 2011
Mr. Montague was President of the Greater Toronto Council in 1975 and 1976. Prior to that he was Vice President and Chair of the Finance Committee. (Greater Toronto Council)

Connie Ward - January 2011
Connie was a member of the 2nd Stayner Group and will be missed by all who knew her. Connie's whole family is in Scouting - grandparents as well as aunts.

Ron Vincent - January 2011
Ron was the Executive Director for the Greater Toronto Council from 1981 to 1990 and a recipient of the Silver Maple Leaf Award. He moved to Calgary after his retirement. He will be missed by his friends in Toronto and Calgary.

Eric L. Teed - January 2011
New Brunswick Scouting mourns the loss of long time Scouter, Eric L. Teed QC, CD.  Mr. Teed served Scouting in New Brunswick in just about every capacity – Scouter, NB Admin Board, and Honourary Legal Counsel over a span of more than 50 years.  Most recently, he served as a Honourary Member to Scouts Canada National Council from New Brunswick. Alistair Hoy - January 2011
At 14 years of age, Alistair passed away suddenly due to an undiagnosed illness. Alistair was a former Cub Scout with the 2nd Don Mills Cub Pack, Greater Toronto Council, ON.

George Chambers - January 2011
Active in the Scouting movement for more than 80 years as a leader, workshop presenter, and District Commissioner, he received Scouts Canada's highest award, the Silver Wolf Award, from Governor General Romeo Leblanc in 1998. George was certainly a supporter, promoter and believer in this great Scouting Movement.
