The 2011 Great Escape will take place from Friday, September 30, 2011 to Sunday, October 2, 2011, near Irricana. This is a weekend camp including “The Great Escape" on Saturday night. “The Great Escape" is a game which re-enacts the Second World War "Great Escape" movie, with Scouts playing the role of the escaping prisoners and Venturers playing the pursuing guards or assisting resistance fighters (the "Marquis"). The actual escape runs Saturday night, from approximately 8:00pm, until early Sunday morning.
The event is open to approximately 600 Scouts, Venturers and their Leaders, and has been "at capacity" over the past few years. The cost is $16 per person.
