Community Footprint Program
Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Calgary Community Footprint Program, funded by ConocoPhillips Canada, the Chinook Council Service Centers conducted their own "energy audits". This means that we tested how well our offices use and conserve energy.
It turns out that we're doing a pretty good job, and only have a few minor changes to make, such as new weather stripping and eco-friendly lighting upgrades.

Put Your House To The Energy Test!
Thanks to some great online tools, you can do your very own energy audit on your home. With our cold Alberta winters, even simple upgrades, like new weather stripping, can help reduce energy consumption. Check out this video explaining how small changes at home can have a big impact on the environment.
Be sure to try out the Personal Footprint Calculator. It will tell you all about how your daily choices impact the environment both locally and globally.
Track your actions online with the EcoAction Calculator. See how you have improved and even compare your results with others.
Your findings can even help you earn some of the following badges:
• Cub Recycling Badge
• Cub Climate Change Badge
• World Scout Environment Award (Cub Level)
• Scout Climate Change Badge
• World Scout Environment Award (Scout Level)
We'd love to hear all about how you're taking action at home! Please send your stories to Meredith Petrie at mpetrie@scouts.ca.
