Camping -- or at least The Outdoors -- is central to Scouting. The Outdoors is were our classroom is. Leaders don't so much need to provide program for youth, but rather take youth outdoors, and let nature do the teaching.
Situatated in the heart of beautiful British Columbia, the Fraser Valley Council is rich with camping opportunities. BC Parks cooperates closely with Scouts Canada here in BC. From their website you can discouver parks with all levels of accessibility and opportunity. BC Parks is celegrating its centennary in 2011, and Scouting is pleased to be a frequent user of, and a support of the Parks system in BC.
Fraser Valley Council manages three camps that are available to all Scout Groups. These are available:
♦ first to Fraser Valley Scout Groups, then
♦ to Scout Groups outside of the Fraser Valley, and then
♦ to Groups that share similar values with Scouting (church groups, community groups, schools, other organizations).
