Schools and Scouting was started in the Fraser Valley over a decade ago with one school coming for a camping experience at Camp McLean. This grew into a very strong program supported by the Department of Education in B,C. After many years of success, the Schools and Scouting program has become part of Scouts Canada's programs. We continue to present in class sessions to students grades 5-7 followed by a 21/2 day camping program at Camp McLean to enhance skills learned in the classroom. This project is currently run by our Community Development Worker, Mariko Zamani who is part of the staff of Scouts Canada. Mariko works with the School Districts, Principals and teachers to recruit schools to partipate in the program.
