Railway Coastal Museum
The Railway Coastal Museum tells the proud story of the Newfoundland trains and Coastal Boats. We offer customizable tours with a variety of activities and videos to choose from. It's your tour, so it's your choice.
The tours range from an hour to an hour and a half and our programmer is happy to work with you to make sure that you get what you want for your group. The tour centres around our 1940s train diorama, as well as showcasing our model train display. We also offer a selection of educational videos and activities to help our visitors enjoy themselves.
Our winter hours are Tuesday - Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but we make an exception for Scout groups and stay open later to accommodate your schedules.
To contact us about bookings, call Andrea O'Brien at 724-5942 or through email: aobrien@railwaycoastalmuseum.ca.

Wallnuts Climbing Centre & Outfitters Adventurers
Looking for different activities for your group? Why not consider Wallnuts Climbing Centre or Outfitters Adventures!
Wallnuts can accommodate larger group bookings and offer good rates and customized tours (times, duration, distance, meals and extra activities, e.g. hiking) too.
If you have further questions or want to make a booking, please call the numbers provided on the brochures.
From time to time, groups from outside the Eastern Avalon Area visit the St. John’s area for weekend sleepovers and camps. These are two good activities to consider during your stay.
Speaking of sleepovers, did you know that Scout groups can now book the basement of the Council Admin Building for sleepovers – at no charge! Contact Jocelyn at scoutscanada@nf.aibn.com for more information.
Safe Boating with the Rovers
During the month May, the St. John's Rovers typically offer safe boating presentations to any Beaver, Cub, Scout or Venturer section in the Eastern Avalon Area. The Rovers will visit your meeting with their safe-boating trailer, give out free coloring and activity books, and talk to the youth about boating equipment, life jackets and other safety precautions.
For further information or to book a date, please contact Peter Hatcher at peter.hatcher@nf.sympatico.ca, or Geoff Penney at gpenney@nf.aibn.com.
