Retention and Growth Incentive Programs

2011-12

These programs are offered to Groups by the Council to encourage members to grow their Groups.  Word of mouth and community visiblity are our most powerful tools.  Making Scouting available to every youth is our goal.     

• Retention Incentive Program:  One indication of operating a good program in your group is whether or not members return.  A retention of 70% or more is above the norm.  To promote the Council goal of offering Scouting to every youth, growth in membership is also very important.  If a group can both retain 70% of it's current members and grow it's overall membership it is leading the way and reaching Council and National goals. 

• Add a Section Bursary:  This is an invcentive program for a Group starting up a New Section or a New Group.  

• 2011-12 National and Council Bring-a-Friend Incentive Program:  Incentive programs that are is available to all adult and youth members who recruit a friend to attend a meeting.  The National Incentives (5$ Scoutshop coupons) are available from October 1st 2011 until February 29th 2012.  The Council Incentives (Bring-a-buddy pins and flashlights) are available all year-round.  Tracking sheet - click here. 

• Reduced Winter Fee 2012: NEW                                                                                                                        The Winter 2012 fee is $90 per youth member. Voyageur Council wants to encourage Groups to take advantage of the Reduced Fee starting February1st in order to attract new members and continue to grow.
