8 to 11 years of age
Cubbing is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, storytelling, play acting, spiritual fellowship and the outdoors.

I promise to do my best to love and serve God, to do my duty to the Queen;
to keep the law of the Wolf Cub pack,
and to do a good turn for somebody every day

I am honored and excited to be a part of the Windsor Area Team. Becoming the Pack Service Scouter allows me the fantastic opportunity to visit each Pack and offer guidance or assistance when need but during my visits I have observed the uniqueness of each group. The small variances in ceremonies or weekly procedures that make each group special from the way the Duty Six is posted to the way badges are presented.

I would like all Pack Scouters to have the opportunity to pick up on a new idea or share your traditions with others. A sharing meeting would be great! But since we are all so busy running those Quality Programs, planning the next weekend camp and getting those forms and applications in on time, who has time to attend another meeting.

I would like to propose an “e-Council Rock”, an on-line sharing source.

I would like to challenge all Pack Scouters to submit their special traditions or unique ideas to share on the Pack web page. It could be the game your youth can’t get enough of, the campfire song you have to sing before the flame goes out, that special touch to your opening/closing or a tradition for your Group at closing ceremonies.

We will post submissions on the Windsor Pack web page where other Scouters can benefit from fresh ideas and generate new sparks in their programs.

Every Scouter that has taken part in a weekend training course will tell you the best part was sharing ideas – remember the feeling of excitement when you returned to your Group full to the rim with new ideas you couldn’t wait to try?

I know there are great things going on in Packs all over the Windsor Area, why not take the opportunity to show case your Group’s traditions and favorites.

Please join me in supporting the growth and development of Packs everywhere by simply sending me an email or dropping me a note at the Scout Shop.

From the 47th  - Lair Screens

This activity supports the Jungle Theme and gives the Cub Scouts a personal space at the meeting hall.

Cut a piece of white fabric big enough to hang on a dowel across the back of 2 chairs (with 2 hooks) and to the floor. (approx. 3 x 2) Once the Sixes have been established and a Name has been given, Cub Scouts design and paint their Lair Screen. Explain that this will be their own space, their “Cub Lair” for the year. They can add personal touches like their names or “paw print” (hand).

At closing Ceremonies in May, the Lair Screens are removed from the dowel, folded and tied with Group Colours ribbon. Each Screen is presented to the Sixer of that Lair for a job well done or to a 3rd year Cub Scout going up to Scouts as a token of their time in the Pack.
