SCOUTS

11 to 14 years of age
The Scout program emphasizes having fun while encouraging youth to feel good about themselves, their friends and family, God, and the environment. The Scout program helps youth expand
their leadership skills and gain self confidence.

Scout Promise

On my honour I promise that I will do my best, to do my duty to God and the Queen, to help other people at all times,
and to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

Scout Law
A Scout is helpful and trustworthy,
kind and cheerful, considerate and clean, wise in the use of all resources.

Scout Motto
Be Prepared

DAC Contact for Troop:
Jeremy Leese

My name is ScOUTer Jeremy Leese, the Program Specialist (formerly known as DAC) for Troop, for the Windsor area.  I am also a ScOUTer with the 13th Windsor Scout Troop.

I see my main function in this position as one of offering support – whatever is needed to bring the best possible program to the Youth.

My plan is to visit each troop at least 3 times throughout the Scouting year (in the fall, during the year, and in the spring as things are wrapping up).   These visits are meant for me to offer whatever support I can to ensure we have the best possible programs in place for the Youth.  Please do not think I am there to ‘check up on you’, or to look for things that are being done wrong.  In fact, I’ll be looking for ideas that can be shared with other Leaders, including those at my own group.  I will be contacting all the Troop Scouters over the next little while (or, please feel free to contact me).   If you haven’t heard from me by the end of October, please contact me so we can make sure I have the proper info.

I also plan on resurrecting the “Troop Talk” sessions on a monthly basis.  Sometimes known as Scouter’s Club, these are meant to be informal get-togethers (no uniforms, no agendas) to share ideas, get info, meet other Leaders, and talk about whatever you want to talk about.  Keep an eye on this page, and on the calendar – I‘ll post the dates once a few other dates have been worked out.  I’ll try to vary the day so that as many Leaders as possible will have an opportunity to attend.

I think this is going to be a great year, and I look forward to working with all Scouters.
